Wood Duck Manufacturing was developed in 2003 by four creative, Ottawa Valley people who wanted to offer quality Canadian-made furniture for your home. Our main business of manufacturing fireplace mantels evolved smoothly into the design of custom furniture. Our experienced furniture finishers compliment a team of skilled cabinetmakers.
If you are looking for a custom design from a drawing, a picture or an idea, we can make it a reality. Our designer, Chuck Davis is a pioneer in the fireplace mantel industry. He loves to play with fire. In the last 20 years, Chuck has set the standard for fireplace finishing in the North American industry. Travel through the site to see his interesting designs.
We believe Chuck’s designs will inspire you to call us. One of the owners, usually Tamara, will answer your call and your questions. Tamara Adams is involved in every aspect of the business, from ordering the material that goes into our fine designs, to overseeing the quality of the finish before it goes out the door. Twenty years of experience in manufacturing and furniture finishing ensures all of your questions are answered immediately. Tamara likes to tell us that she’s not bossy: she just has better ideas.
Sometimes the sultry voice of Nancy Cameron greets you when you call. Although Nancy doesn’t really know anything, she can always find Tamara who does know everything, so she’s handy to have around. In reality, Nancy is our financial ace.
If you caught that four people created Wood Duck and only three are mentioned, it is because the first and original Wood Duck, Wally Marchand departed wood working in 2003. Current rumors have him promoting world peace and teaching John Lennon to write a better song.
You may never meet the most important Ducks: Derek Rabishaw, Andy Jackson, Annette Nolan, Tyler Johnston, Brian Stewart, Shannon Fraser, and Keith Mulvihill. Each one brings a unique skill to Wood Duck Manufacturing to craft true art.
If you have an idea for a special piece of furniture or fireplace mantel, call us, come to see us, or send us an e-mail. We also welcome contractors as you will see some bathroom vanities and kitchen islands while touring our site. Welcome!
