Custom Order Process:

Customizing standard fireplace mantel products, custom fireplace mantel styles and custom cabinetry and furniture are key services offered by Wood Duck.

Wood Duck will respond to our customer’s custom fireplace mantel and furniture requests with drawings with dimensions and a quote in a timely fashion. Our communication and information exchange are key steps to a satisfactory completion of all custom projects. This exchange will culminate in an order confirmation to be signed off on by the customer once they are satisfied that all the relevant details have been noted and addressed.

Customizing Standard Fireplace Mantel Products: these are usually size related – i.e. the installation site is either smaller than the standard dimensions of the fireplace mantel, there’s an obstruction like a door or window or the customer has a desire for some aspect of the design to be altered for personal aesthetic reasons.

Custom Design Fireplace Mantel Products: these most often are a personal aesthetically based choice, though sometimes influenced by space restrictions. Dimensional information is necessary, however unless size is the issue the given dimensions will only be relevant to the aesthetic preferences.

Custom Cabinet & Custom Furniture Projects: these are a source of great pride to both our customers and our crew here at Wood Duck. Please follow the steps outlined below. We will respond promptly. We will supply a quote with drawings based on the information exchanged.

ORDERING A STANDARD MANTEL PRODUCT WITH CUSTOM SIZING:

• Product model / name
• Fireplace model / note rear or top vent application if there’s an option
• Wood type
• Finish
• Specific information regarding the nature of the requested size change.
• Supply if possible, a sketch or drawing of the room situation (wall size and possible obstructions)

ORDERING A CUSTOM DESIGNED MANTEL PRODUCT:

• Supply a photo or sketch
• Fireplace model / note rear or top vent application if there’s an option
• Wood type
• Finish
• Note key dimensions. Include any specific required or desired size dimensions – i.e. shelf depth / leg width, boot size, etc.
• Identify any specific shapes, mouldings or other decorative aspects desired. Add any notes that will help clarify the request.

WHEN ORDERING A CUSTOM DESIGNED NON-FIREPLACE MANTEL PRODUCT:

• Supply a photo or sketch of the design
• Wood type, finish and any other general nature information
• Specific size information for both the room situation and the product itself

• Each cabinet is fabricated and set up in our shop.
• Custom stain and paint matches are available for a modest up-charge.
• If there is a problem on site with the walls/floors being out of square we will respond within days to supply trim etc.
• Line drawings including dimensions are available for all custom requests.
• Standard 2 to 3 week lead time on most orders (some custom projects may take longer).
• We will design and build custom fireplace mantels from photos or sketches.
• Minimal cost for custom changes to standard products due to space constraints &/or customer’s aesthetic considerations.
